Hoy os muestro la serie que he llevado a cabo este año para mi Proyecto de Fin de Carrera sobre Pulgarcito. Tan sólo son cuatro cuadros, pero, aunque reconozco que me hubiera gustado pintar más, se trataba de darles más protagonismo a las ilustraciones que acompañan al cuento.
Ante todo, he intentado captar en ellos la atmósfera de fantasía que contextualiza el relato, aunque sin excesivo artificio. La naturaleza, como veis, ha sido el nexo entre todos ellos.

Here is the series I made for my Final Degree Course Proyect about the Tom Thumb story. They're only four pictures, but, tough I'd have painted more ones, I had to give more importance to illustrations.
Anyway, I tried to catch the fanstastic atmosphere that involves the tale. Nature, as you can see, has been the link between all of them.

Rocas

Rocas, óleo sobre lienzo; 41 x 33 cm

Una pequeña prueba de paisaje, antes de iniciar una etapa de práctica a fondo en este tipo de imágenes. Es posible que próximamente inicie una serie de rocas, me encanta como la luz juega con las aristas de los cortes que perfilan cada piedra. Podréis ver el paisaje real (que no tiene desperdicio) en La Alberca, Salamanca.

A little try on landscape, before the beginning of a period practising this kind of images. Maybe I'll start a rocks series, cause I love the light playing with the edges of the cuts, shaping each stone. You can see the real landscape (really nice) in La Alberca, Salamanca.

Retoques

A menudo me preguntan cuándo es el momento en que decido dar por terminado un cuadro. Sin embargo, la respuesta no es sencilla, y para demostrarlo, aquí está uno de los cuadros pintados durante mi reciente estancia pintando paisaje al aire libre en Segovia, tras ser expuesto y aparecer en el catálogo.
Y esta es su apariencia actual:

Sometimes, people ask me when is the moment when I decide to finish a painting. However, the answer is not simple, and, to demonstrate it, here is one of the painitngs made during my recent stay painitng outdoors landscape in Segovia, after being exhibited, and catalogued.

Probando a pintar fuera del estudio. De esta forma, se trabaja con todos los sentidos sobre el entorno retratado, impregnando el óleo de diversos sonidos, olores, y texturas que hacen del estudio del paisaje circundante algo muy personal y estructurado.

Trying to paint outdoors. By this practise, I can work with all senses upon the immortalized environment, pervading the oil with many sounds, smells and textures that make the landscape studing something very personal and structured.

Ventana

Ventana, óleo sobre lienzo 46 x 38 cm

Me encanta cuando la vegetación invade las fachadas de edificios antiguos, desconchados, cubiertos de polvo de años. Sobretodo si esta vegetación está salpicada por el colorido de algunas flores.

I love when the vegetation invades the front of old buildings, where plaster or paint has come off, covered by dust of years. Specially if this vegetation is splashed of some flowers colours.
